Rockland Waterfront Walk and Coastal Meet-Up

Learn about Rockland’s waterfront master plan and participate in a project to monitor and document flood impacts along Maine's coast!

Rockland’s waterfront is at the center of the City’s plans for a resilient future. It’s home to the critical spaces and infrastructure that provide commercial and recreational access to the harbor, and it’s also on the front lines of storms, flooding, and sea level rise. As the City breaks ground on the redevelopment of Buoy Park, the first funded phase of their recent waterfront master plan, join the City’s Sustainability and Community Development Coordinator and the Gulf of Maine Research Institute to walk at nearby Harbor Park and learn about sea level rise, coastal flooding, and change along Rockland’s waterfront.

Then, learn how you can document flood and high water impacts through GMRI’s Coastal Flooding Community Science project, contributing to a dataset that helps inform flood resilience in Maine communities.

Meet us in the parking lot of Harbor Park, and dress for the weather! There is no rain date for this event, so we will notify you of cancellation if inclement weather is forecast.

Registration is encouraged but not required.
