Learning Resource Hub
Supporting educators with the tools they need.
Across all of our educational efforts at the Gulf of Maine Research Institute, we've created compelling curriculum resources targeting middle school learners. Through our resources, students become scientists as they participate in current, real scientific research efforts. Whether you’re visiting our lab or conducting field work in your own neighborhood, our curriculum is specifically designed to advance your students’ understanding of science inquiry and data as they explore issues of climate change and changing ecosystems right here in the Gulf of Maine region.
Curriculum Goals:
- Support educators with high-quality resources, aligned with learning standards, that help them integrate more authentic science into their teaching.
- Engage students as scientists as they participate in the process of scientific inquiry including the role of data in making sense of natural phenomena.
- Connect educators and students with current ecological and climate research.
To maximize students’ opportunity to build and apply essential skills, GMRI supports teachers as they work to extend authentic science learning for students back in the classroom and across their educational experiences. Through our resources, students become scientists as they participate in current, real scientific research efforts. They explore issues of climate change and changing ecosystems right here in the Gulf of Maine region.

Curriculum Projects
Whether it's extending the impact of the LabVenture experience into classrooms throughout the state, or connecting students with scientists as they collect and contribute data in support of ongoing real world research efforts, we've worked to incorporate curriculum resources into a multitude of our educational projects.
