Science Café
Keeping you informed and engaged with our work in the Gulf of Maine
Every few months, members of the public are invited to GMRI to grab a drink, pull up a chair, and join us for an informal presentation and discussion about current research related to the Gulf of Maine.
This event is focused on:
- Giving the public the opportunity to have informal discussions about current research in the Gulf of Maine with GMRI scientists and researchers.
- Presenting our work and research in the Gulf of Maine in publicly accessible ways.
- Providing a space to answer questions and gather feedback from the public about our work.
Our Science Café series brings you face-to-face with cutting-edge science in a comfortable setting. Every few months, members of the public are invited to GMRI to grab a drink, pull up a chair, and join us for an informal presentation and discussion about current research related to the Gulf of Maine. Our Science Cafés are jargon-free, while the presenter might have a Ph.D., you won’t need one to understand and contribute to the conversation.
Science Café has gone virtual!
Due to ongoing challenges with COVID-19, we are happy to offer a virtual edition of our Science Café series. You'll be able to participate in a casual discussion with a GMRI expert from the comfort of your home. Science Cafés are a great way for the public to join us for a virtual discussion about our current research, education programs, and community initiatives, and we want to make sure this opportunity continues. Grab a drink or snack, kick back, and join us in conversation.
