Public Workshops Explore Sea Level Rise
Tidings | Apr 20, 2020
The impacts of climate change are becoming increasingly visible in our state and across the nation. You’ve probably noticed more frequent news coverage of intense storms, unusual temperatures, ocean warming, and coastal flooding.
This summer, we began hosting workshops — here in our lab and along Maine’s coast — to address these challenges in Maine’s coastal communities.
In a 90-minute workshop, entitled “Preparing for Sea Level Rise,” we explore the data behind this critical climate impact. Together with attendees, we explore models projecting impacts in their communities as we also discuss potential resiliency measures.
Join us this fall to participate in this workshop and become a leader in your community. Learn more and see our available workshop schedule at http://gmri.org/sea-level-rise.
These events are made possible thanks to funding from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
