Leah MacNichol

As the National Operations Manager for the Marine Resource Education Program (MREP), Leah engages with all 7 of the fishery management councils and is responsible for guiding the planning and execution of each MREP workshop.

Having completed a BA in Sociology with a philosophy minor, Leah supports the MREP program with strong organizational and leadership skills honed from her previous years running the front office of Maine Yacht Center. While there, she enjoyed managing customer relations, interacting with marine stakeholders, and learning about what it takes to grow a business in a healthy way.

Leah first joined GMRI in March 2020, and when she is not “urban hiking,” watching her beloved Arsenal Football Club, or reading in the sun, she contributes to the MREP program by overseeing workshop operations, managing registration and contact databases, and supporting program finances.

Born and raised in Portland, Maine, she could not be more excited to contribute to the legacy of the GMRI.
