Natalie Sternberg

Natalie joined GMRI’s development team in May of 2026 as Donor Relations Manager, Institutional Giving. In this role, she cultivates and manages corporate partnerships across Maine and beyond, with a focus on strategic alignment, community impact, and industry collaboration.

Originally from New York, Natalie holds a B.A. in Psychology from Skidmore College, diplomas in Restaurant Management and Pastry & Baking Arts from the Institute of Culinary Education, and a Master of Social Work from NYU Silver School of Social Work. Before joining the Gulf of Maine Research Institute, she worked in institutional giving at God’s Love We Deliver, supporting a portfolio that generated $3–5 million annually to advance medically tailored meal programs for individuals affected by severe and chronic illness.

Natalie is excited to work in community empowerment, resilient food systems, and the intersection of seafood, climate readiness, and the blue economy. New to Portland, she enjoys supporting local restaurants, exploring Maine’s trails and gardens, and creating ceramics.
